SLCC CAMP: The Salt Lake Community College men's basketball coaching staff will be conducting a two-day Holiday Shooting Camp Dec. 29 and 30. Shooting instruction will be given by SLCC coaches and players.

Enrollment is open to campers from 4th to 9th grades and runs in two sessions. Grades 4-6 from 1-4 p.m., and grades 7-9 from 5-8 p.m. at Bruin Arena on the SLCC Redwood Road campus.

ACADEMICS: Cross country runner Mike Nielson leads a contingent of 25 Utah State student-athletes that earned academic all-Big West Conference honors it was announced Tuesday. USU's 25 selections were the most in the league.

Nielson, a senior runner from Bellevue, Wash., was named to the team for the third straight year. The 2003 NCAA Championships qualifier owns a cumulative 3.66 grade-point average in finance.

In addition, eight other Aggie athletes earned academic all-conference honors for the second straight year. Among them were Erin Cartwright-Davis, who was also a first-team all-Big West selection on the volleyball court, and soccer player Melissa Baggaley.

Other two-time academic honorees included soccer players Ally Clegg, Megan Mills, Claire Schend and Amber Tracy, as well as cross country runners Clark Bryner and Carol Cabanillas.
