WEST VALLEY CITY — The Dallas Stars have reassigned defenseman Jeff MacMillan to the Utah Grizzlies and have recalled goaltender Jason Bacashihua to Dallas, the clubs announced Tuesday.
MacMillan, 24, played in four games with Dallas without recording a point. In 21 games with Utah this season, the Durham, Ontario, native scored a goal and added three assists, with 22 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 206-pound defenseman was originally selected in the seventh round (215th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Bacashihua, 21, is 21-29-4 with a 2.99 goals against average and four shutouts over the last two seasons with the Grizzlies. The Garden City, Mich., native is 3-10-2 this year with a 2.78 goals against average. Bacashihua was originally a first-round selection (26th overall) of the Dallas Stars in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in four 2003 preseason games with Dallas posting a 0-1-1 record and a 1.54 goals against average.
The Grizzlies host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday night at the E Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
