OREM — Rick and Vickie Salisbury of Salisbury Homes in Springville have committed $230,000 in scholarship monies for the Utah Valley State College athletic program.
The donation will be used to endow a full scholarship for the Wolverine baseball program. UVSC baseball will begin NCAA Division I play this spring, and plans have been announced for a new $3.8 million Parkway Crossing Stadium.
UVSC's athletic department is continuing to raise scholarship funds to meet new NCAA standards. With the move to Division I, UVSC must meet at least the minimum scholarship requirements to be compliant. In the 14 competitive sports, the department must offer at least 50 percent of the maximum scholarships allowed.
