PHILADELPHIA — Dean McAmmond scored his second goal with 1:27 left in overtime, leading the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.
The Flyers have lost two straight at home after opening the season 12-0-2 at the Wachovia Center. Jarome Iginla also scored for the Flames, who have lost just once (6-1-2) in their last nine games.
Jeremy Roenick and John LeClair scored for Philadelphia.
ISLANDERS 5, DEVILS 4: At Uniondale, N.Y., Alexei Yashin and Jason Blake scored 30 seconds apart in a frenetic third period to lift New York to a stunning victory over New Jersey. The Devils tied it 4-4 when Sergei Brylin scored a power-play tally just 17 seconds after Blake gave the Islanders their first lead with a short-handed goal. Blake put New York ahead with 6:05 left, and Yashin scored at 14:25.
MAPLE LEAFS 3, LIGHTNING 0: At Toronto, Mats Sundin and Gary Roberts each had a goal and an assist in the third period, and Ed Belfour earned his third shutout in the last six games as Toronto beat Tampa Bay. Darcy Tucker added an empty-net goal for the Maple Leafs, who set a franchise record by recording a point in 12 straight games (11-0-0-1). They celebrated with a group hug after the final buzzer.
PENGUINS 2, SABRES 1: At Pittsburgh, Konstantin Koltsov, one of the worst shooters on a poor-shooting team, scored early in the third period and Pittsburgh won consecutive games for only the second time this season, beating Buffalo Tuesday night. Koltsov, who had scored on only two of 49 previous shots, took Tomas Surovy's pass as he skated across the Sabres' blue line and beat goalie Mika Noronen on a backhander as defenseman Henrik Tallinder tried to push him off the puck. Buffalo dropped its sixth in a row and seventh in eight games.
CAPITALS 5, THRASHERS 0: At Atlanta, Maxim Ouellet, appearing in his first NHL game in three seasons, made 37 saves for his first NHL shutout and Robert Lang had two goals and two assists to help Washington blank Atlanta. The win was the second in three games for new Washington head coach Glen Hanlon, who replaced the fired Bruce Cassidy last week.
BRUINS 1, CANADIENS 1: At Montreal, Brian Rolston scored for the second straight game and Andrew Raycroft made 28 saves as Boston skated to a 1-1 tie with Montreal. Rolston, who had an assist and a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 3-2 win in Ottawa, scored his 12th of the season in the second, tying the game just moments after Montreal opened the scoring midway through the period.
BLUES 2, BLUE JACKETS 1 (OT): At St. Louis, Keith Tkachuk scored with 42.7 seconds left in overtime, leading St. Louis to its second overtime victory over Columbus in five days.
Tkachuk scored his team-leading 16th goal after stopping Chris Pronger's shot short of the net. Lunging to his right, he pushed a backhand shot past goalie Marc Denis while falling.
CANUCKS 2, PREDATORS 1 (OT): At Nashville, Brendan Morrison scored 1:19 into overtime and Dan Cloutier made 29 saves as Vancouver beat Nashville.
Morrison beat Nashville goaltender Tomas Vokoun with a backhand shot from the slot to give the Canucks the win.
KINGS 4, OILERS 2: At Los Angeles, Joe Corvo ended his 49-game scoring drought by netting the go-ahead goal with 4:09 remaining to lead Los Angeles past Edmonton.
