New mission presidents

Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new leaders and their wives are:


Albert Yergovich Aumeister, 42, Peterhof Branch, St. Petersburg Russia South District; counselor in mission presidency; former district president and counselor, branch president, seminary teacher and Young Men adviser. Real estate maintenance manager for the Church. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, to Yergo Alexandrovich and Zinaida Alexeevna Novichenkova Aumeister. Married Natalia Alexandrovna Konovalova, four children.

A branch Relief Society president, she is a former counselor in branch Young Women presidency, CES supervisor and Primary teacher. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, to Alexander Fjodorovich and Svetlana Pavlovna Nazarova Konovalova.


Wess Ralph Greene, 39, Hyde Park 2nd Ward, Hyde Park Utah Stake; ward Young Men president; former ward mission leader, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president, Aaronic Priesthood adviser and missionary. Supervisor of Physical Therapy Services for Logan Regional Hospital. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Dee Ralph and Janae Gittins Greene. Married Karalee Lystrup, three children.

A ward Young Women president, she is a former counselor in Young Women presidency, stake Primary board member, counselor in Primary presidency, counselor in Relief Society presidency, Primary teacher. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Billy Keith and Ruth May James Lystrup.


Charles Raymond Lowry, 55, Lisburn Ward, Belfast Northern Ireland Stake; counselor in mission presidency; former high priests group leader, CES missionary, regional representative, stake president, high councilor, branch president and bishop and missionary. Owner of Jewelers Shop. Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, to Charles Henry and Eileen Coulter Lowry. Married Margaret Irene Morris, four children.

A ward Primary teacher, she is a former stake family history center director, CES missionary, Relief Society enrichment leader, Relief Society secretary and stake Young Women president. Bookkeeper. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Ronald Benjamin and Eileen Munroe Morris.


Kevin Lynn Ludlow, 47, Willow Creek 2nd Ward, Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake; ward Young Men president; former Young Men adviser, bishop, elders quorum president, Sunday School teacher and missionary. President and owner of Sequoia Development Inc. Born in Washington, D.C., to Lynn Stewart and Thelma Wood Ludlow. Married Kitt Elizabeth Souter, three children.

A ward Young Women adviser, she is a former Sunday School teacher, counselor in Young Women presidency, counselor in stake Primary presidency and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Billings, Mont., to James Roe and Clara June Bond Souter.


Robert Karl Merrell, 47, Valley View 8th Ward, Salt Lake Holladay North Stake; counselor in bishopric; former ward Young Men president, Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, high councilor and missionary. Vice president of customer service for Myriad Genetic Laboratories. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Karl Angus and Leah Farr Merrell. Married Candilyn Curtis, four children.

A counselor in the stake Primary presidency, she is a former counselor in the ward Young Women presidency, counselor in Primary presidency, Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary president, Primary teacher and achievement day leader. Born in Ogden, Utah, to LeGrand Raine and Patricia Glade Curtis.


Richard Irwin Norby, 53, Middle Canyon Ward, Tooele Utah Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former bishop, counselor in stake mission presidency, high councilor, counselor in bishopric and Young Men president. Area director of Church Educational System. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Earl and Mary Lou Thornberg Shepherd Norby. Married Pamela Jean Birdwell, five children.

A counselor in ward Primary presidency, she is a former Young Women adviser, counselor in Relief Society presidency and Primary teacher. Fitness instructor. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Ermon T. and Frances Ella Wilkerson Birdwell.


R. Scott Strong, 55, Willow Creek 2nd Ward, Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake; Aaronic Priesthood general board; former high councilor, counselor in bishopric, elders quorum president and missionary. Administrator at Brigham Young University. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to L.R. and Beth Adell Jensen Strong. Married Jane Challis, nine children.

A ward Young Women sports director, she is a former Primary president, Relief Society secretary, Young Women president and counselor. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Wood and Ruth Mackay Challis.


William C. Vriens Jr., 67, Monument Park 12th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake; ward mission leader; former bishop, high councilor, counselor in bishopric, seventies group leader, Sunday School teacher and Aaronic Priesthood adviser. President and owner of Modern Display. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William C. Sr., and Johanna Mellegers Vriens. Married Heidi Eldredge, seven children.

A ward Relief Society president, she is a former nursery leader, Young Women adviser, stake Young Women president, counselor in Primary presidency and Young Women general board member. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter Joshua (Jay) and Marjorie Hyde Eldredge.
