Obituary: Georgia A. David

"Nanny"

1909 ~ 2003

Georgia A. David passed away March 8, 2003.

Mom was born Nov 16, 1909 to Mable V. Armstrong and Walter Scott Ashbrook in Pagoda Springs, CO. She married Eugene Leroy (Pete) David Dec 2, 1933, Antonito, CO (On her lunch break). Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple, Aug 1990.

Mom was a city girl who moved to a farm after her marriage. She had to learn the life of a farm wife and homemaker in a hurry. While living in Colorado, she was active as a leader and role model for the "Rainbow Girls." Mom was an active member of the LDS Church, joining after the family moved to Salt Lake City. She became active within the youth of the church.

Survived by the "4 K's," Kaye (Duane) Dixon, Karen (Ned ) Timothy, Kirk (Bev) David, Kathy (Max) Reading; sisters, Frankie Bush, Salt Lake City, Mary Jane Kelly, Santa Fe, NM; son, Harvey (Jan) Sullivan, Monte Vista, CO, Georgia and Pete raised Harvey, from a young age, as their own son; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Pete; grand-son, Andrew David Timothy. Kisha, Ginger, Heidi, her beautiful bird, "Pretty Boy" and many other faithful animal friends that were her constant companions.

Georgia was blessed with an inner strength that gave her the capacity to love everyone. Her virtues have helped enrich many lives.

The family would like to thank hospice and aides who enabled her to stay home. A special thanks to Pipiene Falemaka for all her TLC.

Services will be Wed. March 12, 2003, 11 a.m. Alta View LDS Chapel (1500 E. 8600 S). Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. Mountain View Memorial Mortuary (3115 E. 7800 S) and Wed. 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
