Don't hurry to wage war

So two Christian leaders call a war moral. Maybe and maybe not. Most Americans call war hell on Earth. During my lifetime, the American people have been slow to go to war.

Today, we Americans (most of us) do not want our young men fighting another war. If war becomes necessary, we will do all we can to defeat evil, but diplomacy is better than bullets. We will pray and work for peace and keep our powder dry.

Still, let us not forget Neville Chamberlain and his policy of "peace at any price," which allowed Hitler to gain control of nearly one-third of Europe before Winston Churchill said, "It is enough."
