Woodland Hills meeting to discuss weed control

WOODLAND HILLS — City leaders are concerned about weeds that could become a fire hazard in the wooded Mount Loafer community and will be discussing the city weed abatement ordinance at Wednesday's City Council meeting.

"It's for both fire prevention and ambience," said City Councilman Mac Baldwin. The ordinance requires homeowners to keep grass short and dead wood cleared away 30 feet from their homes.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with a public hearing to amend the city budget at Mount Loafer Elementary School, 1025 S. 250 West, Salem.
