Scout goes to bat for Afghan baseball

Benjamin Inks, 13, of Pleasant Grove, relaxes amid his Eagle Scout project. Last October Inks saw on television Afghan men and boys playing baseball, which they've learned from the U.S. soldiers stationed there, but without any protective gear. So for his service project, Inks decided to remedy the problem. The donated gear he has collected will be shipped by military transport to a base in Afghanistan, where it will be distributed.
