Salt Lake police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that injured a woman outside a Rose Park residence last week.
Police say the man, 19, shot Tammy Huish in the chest and abdomen March 5 after he showed up at the house "under the false pretenses of going to a party," police said. Huish, 36, remained in stable condition Wednesday morning at LDS Hospital.
Meanwhile, police booked the 19-year-old man into the Salt Lake County Jail late Monday night for investigation of eight counts of attempted homicide. He remained in custody Wednesday morning. Investigators say the man fired on the woman and seven of her family members the night of the shooting.
He was arrested Monday after gang detectives located the man in the area of 500 East and 700 South, police said. Police also said they recovered what is believed to be the gun used in the shooting.
