Robert Earl Davis, age 78, passed away peacefully at his son's home in Tooele, Utah, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
He was born in Provo, Utah, May 15, 1924, to Rual and Mary Kitchen Davis. He graduated from Provo High School in 1943 and went into the Army seven days later. World War II took him to France just in time for the Battle of the Bulge and on to Berlin, where he met his German freilein, Margot Axt, the mother of his five children. They were married from 1947 to 1972. He never remarried.
He settled in Salt Lake for his last 30 years. He loved a good pool game, dancing with the ladies, and inventing anything and everything. But he will be remembered most for his generosity, his thoughtfulness, and an
uncanny ability to find time for
everyone. He was always there to bring a smile, and you never knew when a dozen eggs would show up on your doorstep.
