Lorraine Davis Carlson, age 70, passed away March 12, 2003 in Bountiful, Utah.
Born August 2, 1932 in Salem, Utah to Seth Evans Davis and Elva Stone Davis. She had many fond memories of her youth growing up in Salem. Her family later moved to Salt Lake City, where she graduated from East High School in the class of 1949. She married Ronald Alvin Carlson on Feb. 11, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They later made their home in Bountiful, Utah where they raised a family of four children. Her life was one of devotion and service to family. She has left an amazing legacy of love and we will never forget her example of sacrifice and compassion as she served friends and neighbors and especially the extraordinary care she gave her husband and mother preceding their deaths. She dearly loved her grandchildren and cherished the time she spend time with them. Lorraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings, especially Relief Society president, Young Women's president, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, gardening, sewing, reading, and genealogy.
She is survived by her children: Colleen Burnham (Dave); Brett Carlson (Celena); Karen Bell (Duff); and David Carlson; step-daughter, Christine Martin (Danny); nine grandchildren; one brother and two sisters. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Mon., March 17, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 10th Ward, 1145 N. 200 E. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Russon Brother's Bountiful Mortuary, 295 S. Main, and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Internment, Lakeview Memorial Estates.
