Obituary: LaMar Hawkins

LaMar Hawkins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, left this life March 15, 2003.

LaMar was born the ninth of 10 children to Paul and Myrtle Betts Hawkins, Mammoth, UT. He was raised in SLC, served in the Navy during World War II, and enjoyed a successful career as a painter.

He married Eva Spencer June 23, 1956, and had a wonderful marriage until her passing June 1, 1989. Together they reared six children. Pete was a devoted grandfather who created many works of art for his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by brother, Jack Hawkins; children, Jack Powell (Karen), Betty Ann Burlingame (Yousry), Mike Redmond (Dawn), Spencer Redmond (DeAnn), Louise Anderson (Craig); 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Dr. Anna C. Beck and staff, Jennifer Shaw, Brenda Rouse.

Services will be Wed. March 19, 12 noon Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. 10600 S). A viewing will be Tues. March 18, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
