Obituary: Dean L. Roberts

- Dean L. Roberts, 83, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan 13, 1920 in Minersville, UT to Leslie C. and Lena Vada Griffiths Roberts. He married Wilma Lovell Jan 17, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. Dean graduated from Lincoln High School, Caliente, NV where he lettered in football. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He retired from HAFB in 1974 after 30 years.

Dean was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings: branch president, counselor, ward clerk, Araonic Priesthood advisor, Sunday School teacher, and with his wife served in the Nevada, Las Vegas mission.

Surviving is his wife, Wilma; children, Dean Jr., (Linda), Idaho Falls, ID, Ruby, Layton, Lee (Janet), Kaysville, Ed, Kaysville, Blaine (Carolyn), Fruit Heights, Gary, Las Vegas, NV; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grand-children; brother, Wayne (Cathy), Milford, UT; and sister, Eula (Ira) Cluff, Washington, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Services will be Wed. March 19, 2003, 11 a.m. Chapel Park LDS Ward, 125 S. Chapel, Layton. Friends and family may call Tues. Myers Mortuary, Layton, 250 N.
