SANDY — Nevada Chemicals Inc. said Wednesday that it had net income of $2.1 million, or 29 cents per share, for 2002. That compares with income of $186,000, or 3 cents per share, for 2001.
The company, formerly known as Mining Services International Corp., said the rise was due largely to increased demand for sodium cyanide and improved earnings at its Cyanco business.
Revenue for 2002 totaled $3.9 million, up from $2.5 million in 2001.
The company's stock was priced at $2.95 early Wednesday, unchanged from Tuesday's close. In the past year, the price has ranged from $1.81 to $4.
