With the call-up of three Marine Corps Reserve units based in Riverton, the number of Utah's citizen-soldiers who have been mobilized as of Wednesday has neared 4,000.
Altogether, 3,871 members of Utah-based National Guard or Reserve units have been called to active duty, from postal workers to artillerists, from linguists to engineers to Special Forces fighters.
On Wednesday, the Defense Department released its latest national listing of units mobilized. According to the list, the latest units to be called from Utah are Marine Reserve members from Riverton:
C Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 131 members.
Another company with the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, letter designation not given, 22.
