Obituary: Colleen Christensen

"Forever Teaching"

H. Colleen Prince Christensen, a choice daughter in Zion, sweetheart, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend returned to the loving arms of the Savior on March 18, 2003 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 20, 1930 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to James W. Prince and LaVern Leavitt. She loved growing up in a small prairie town where she gained her love of nature, flowers and birds.

She married Dennis W. Christensen on December 20, 1951 in Cardston, Alberta Temple where they sealed their love for time and all eternity. Her love of good books prepared her for a lifetime of teaching. She taught in many capacities and was loved by young and old alike because of her tremendous spirit and humility.

She was a blessing to the people in England as she served her mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the same time her husband served his mission in Denmark.

She and Dennis were blessed to have two loving daughters Brenda and Marsha. In 1966 they moved from Canada to Bountiful, Utah where they have spent 37 wonderful years.

Colleen spent her time in service to others. She will be remembered for her genuine acts of kindness and her devotion to humanitarian efforts.

Colleen adored her grandchildren and delighted in participating in their lives, including school events, recitals, plays and ball games

Her quick wit, gentle spirit and caring nature made her easy to love and impossible to forget.
