Obituary: Clara Tenney Quilter

"Unconditional Love"

Our beautiful, sweet mother and grandmother, Clara Tenney Quilter, passed away March 21, 2003 surrounded by her loving family.

Clara was born July 12, 1923 to Jesse Milo Tenney and Winnifred Hansen Tenney in Winslow, AZ. She moved to Salt Lake City and attended the LDS Business College and was then called on a mission to the Pacific Northwest where she served our Lord faithfully. She returned to Salt Lake City where she met the love of her life, Harry Melvin Quilter. They were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple Feb 24, 1953 for time and all eternity.

Mel and Clara moved to Bountiful and were fortunate to belong to the Val Verda III Ward where many strong bonds of friendship were formed. Mom loved the church and had many fulfilling callings in the cub scouts, primary and relief society. She worked for the Division of Water Resources for 16 years when she retired to take care of Mel. She had a strong interest to help those in need. She set a strong and positive example for her children, grandchildren and everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed crocheting and made many fine pieces. Her kindness and generosity was an engrained way of life, always willing to help, hold a hand or lend an ear. She truly loved all of her family and cared deeply for us as well as all of her nieces, nephews, sister and brothers-in-law.

Our loving mother is survived by her children, Steven and Gayla Quilter, Rex and Cathy Quilter, Carole Quilter, Bryce and Denise Quilter, Lisa and Phillip May; 14 grateful grandchildren; and two great-grandchil-dren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Carl Tenney, Von Tenney, and twin brother, Clarence "Buck" Tenney.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tues. March 25, 2003 Val Verda LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 2633 S. 50 W, Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main and Tues. 11:45-12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Internment, Lakeview Cemetery.

Mel and Clara together forever.
