Obituary: Margaret S. Nelson


FARMINGTON - Margaret S. Nelson, 78, passed away March 20, 2003 at her home.

She was born Feb 14, 1925 in Salt Lake City the daughter of Carl Bingham and Annie May Newton Shipp. Margaret married Norval D. Nelson June 2, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death Feb 26, 1991.

She was a member of the LDS Farmington Canyon View Ward and a former member of the Ogden 35th Ward. She served in many ward and stake positions including Relief Society and as scribe for the stake Patriarch.

Margaret loved music and sang in many groups including The Celeste Singers. She was a daughter of the Utah Pioneers, and the Farmington Jr. Literary Club.

Surviving are three sons, Van (Clau-dia), Morgan, Rick (Setsuko), Farming-ton, Keven (Elizabeth), Layton; one daughter, Pamela Nelson, Ogden; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchil-dren; brothers, Edwin (Leila) Shipp, Salt Lake City, Woodley (Geri) Shipp, Beaverton, OR; and sister, Maureen (Jordan) Glew, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and one brother.

Services will be Tues. March 25, 2003, 11 a.m. Compton Bench Chap-el, 850 N. 300 W, with Bishop Mark Faldmo officiating. Friends and family may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Tues. 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd, Ogden. E-mail condolences to
