Obituary: Bernard A. Oberg

Bernard Asay Oberg, age 73, Payson, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003 at Mtn. View Hospital.

He was born July 22, 1929 in Delta, UT a son of Harold and Elsie Asay Oberg. He married Betty Jean McCoy Sept 27, 1947, Provo, UT.

Bernard was employed by U.S. Steel Corp. for 35 years. He was a master mechanic who was happy to share his knowledge and his skills both on and off the job. He was a member of the White Lake Riding Club for many years. He was a member of the Payson Lions Club more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He shared his musical talents by singing in a quartet at numerous functions. He was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean, Payson; son and daughter, Gary (Vicky) Oberg, Delta, Carol (Michael) Pulver, Payson; five grandchildren, Brad (Sherilee) Pulver, Brent (Jessica) Pulver, Debbie (Jared) Shepard, Derrek, Michael Oberg; five step-grandchildren, Courtney, Tanya Black, Kayla (Brennon) Herbert, Amy, Tera Oberg; six great-grandchildren; step-great-grandson; sister and three brothers, Verna Throckmorton, Marvin (Joan) Oberg, all of Genola, Robert (Willetta) Oberg, Santaquin, Dale (Leta) Oberg, Provo; sister-in-law, Shriley Oberg; and brother-in-law, Dean (Maxine) McCoy. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Buddy; two brothers, Don, Max Oberg; brother-in-law, Arden Throck-morton; parents; and parents-in-law, Don and Gertrude McCoy.

Services will be Tues. March 25, 2003, 11 a.m. Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 W, Payson, where friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. or Tues. one hour prior to services. Burial, Payson City Cemetery. E-mail condolences to
