Salt Lake-based EMPS Corp. said Monday it has acquired a second accommodations vessel, the Caspian Dinara.
EMPS, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Caspian Services Group Limited, is engaged in the oil and gas services industry in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.
"The Caspian Dinara increases the number of oil field workers we can accommodate offshore," said Laird Garrard, vice president of Caspian Services Group.
Caspian Services Group already owns five vessels operating in the Caspian Sea. Several are chartered to Agip KCO, an oil and gas exploration consortium.
Caspian also owns controlling interest in a water desalinization plant and, with joint venture partner Chagala Hotel Group, owns a 48-room beachfront hotel in the Caspian Sea port city of Bautino, Kazakhstan.
