OREM — The Orem Heritage Committee will memorialize residents who served their country in various conflicts and wars with a "living memorial" — an archive of experiences of those men and women in the armed services.
Veterans will be interviewed and their stories recorded on cassette tapes, which will then be transcribed into writing and archived in the Orem City Library. A copy of the recordings and transcriptions will be given to each veteran.
The written copies will be made available to residents for research or personal interest and to teachers who may find them valuable in teaching social sciences, English composition or journalism.
Volunteers interested in interviewing, editing, or transcribing can contact program coordinator, Don Norton at 225-8050 or 422-7452.
