Obituary: Aase Ingeborg Johansen


Our loving mother, grandmother and Mormor, Aase I. Johansen passed away peacefully March 22, 2003 in Salt Lake City.

She was born May 25, 1916 in Kjaerringoy, Norway, a daughter of Anton Johan and Hanna Hansine Hansen. She married Karl D. Johansen June 17, 1939 in Trondheim, Norway. Sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Nov 4, 1952.

Emigrated from Norway to Salt Lake City in 1951 with her husband and two daughters. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She joined the LDS Church April 19, 1948 in Trondheim, Norway. Always had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many church callings. She lived a life of service to her family and fellow man. She was well known in the Norwegian community for her authentic Norwegian cooking. She was a hard worker all her life. She and her husband loved traveling back to her beloved Norway to visit family and friends. She was very proud of her posterity.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kari Thacker (Lee), Turid Monson (Bill); 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters in Norway. Preceded in death by husband, three brothers and four sisters.

Services will be 12 noon Tues. March 25, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
