UVSC student gains spot on U.S. board

OREM — A Utah Valley State College student is the first representative from Utah to be elected chairman of the executive board of the National Association of Student Advancement Programs.

John Eagleston, 23, an integrated studies major from Arizona, will assume the position on May 1. The association includes all student alumni and presidential ambassador organizations in North America. "This appointment is extraordinary for UVSC," he said.

ASAP is a student-level organization that parallels the administrative-level Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Eagleston is serving as the ASAP representative for District 7, which includes Utah, Nevada, California and Hawaii.
