BOUNTIFUL — Applications are now being taken for this year's Bountiful Handcart Days parade, set for Wednesday, July 23, 6 p.m.
The parade, now in its 53rd year, will be directed by Leslie and Jennette Paskett. Entries may include floats, civic officials, marching bands, horses and horse-drawn vehicles, antique vehicles, clowns, handcarts "and more," they said.
Entries should reflect this year's theme, "Heritage of Hope."
Deadline for applications is June 20.
The parade begins at Five Points (1800 S. Main), goes north on Main to 400 North, then west to 100 West, where it disbands by Bountiful City Park. Approximately 60,000 people watched last year's parade.
Invitations are extended to all area churches, companies, civic organizations, groups "and even families" to prepare floats, the Pasketts said.
Applications may be obtained by contacting the Handcart Days parade committee at 1416 E. Center, Bountiful, or by calling 299-8250.
