Obituary: Ralph Crouch Ensign

Brother, Uncle, Friend

Ralph Crouch Ensign, age 76, died at his home March 25, 2003 from cancer. He was the first of eight children born to Henry Calvin and Susie Caroline Crouch Ensign, September 9, 1926.

Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked in the ceramic tile business 56 years and started all of his brothers and many nephews in the Ensign Tile tradition. He loved working with his nephew Mike and considered him his son.

Ralph was an avid sports car enthusiast and enjoyed outdoor experiences with family and friends. He loved to take trips with his nephew Dan.

Married Dorothy B. Smith, June 27, 1959; later divorced. Survived by brothers Bert (Nita), Norm (Cheryl), Cal (Jan); sisters June (Joe) Pons, Caroline (Pat) Snell, and Beulah George. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vonna Rowley.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 28th at 12:00 Noon at the Mountain View Ward, 5980 South 1300 West. Friends may call on Thurs. from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow the service at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
