Time for a mall skywalk

Some time ago it was proposed that a skywalk be built across Main Street connecting the ZCMI shopping center and the Crossroads Plaza.

Now that the LDS Church has purchased Crossroads, it seems to me that a connecting skyway would increase the value of both properties, while constituting a big step towards enhancing the attraction of this entire quarter of town.

Such a skyway exists between the two buildings of the Galleries Lafayette in Paris, and there are several such skywalks connecting buildings in Hong Kong. If the structure were designed with some pizzazz it could be a real attraction for tourists and an important step toward revitalizing downtown.
