Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. . . .

"Modern revelation commands parents to 'teach their children to pray,' " said Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve, speaking in April 1993 general conference and quoting Doctrine and Covenants 68:28. "This requires parents to learn and pray with the special language of prayer. We learn our native language simply by listening to those who speak it. This is also true of the language with which we address our Heavenly Father. The language of prayer is easier and sweeter to learn than any other tongue."
