OGDEN — A 16-year-old boy is in stable condition following an early morning shooting at a party here.
The boy was standing on the front lawn of a home at 4:30 a.m. Saturday when a passing vehicle fired seven shots into the crowd. Six shots hit the house, and one hit the victim in the lower abdominal area, Ogden Police Lt. Scott Conley said.
The teen was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital by private vehicle, where he was examined and immediately taken into surgery. He was upgraded from critical to stable condition Saturday afternoon.
Police believe the incident may have been gang-related, though Conley said it doesn't appear the victim is a gang member. The shooter is a possible previous associate of the homeowner, Conley said.
No arrests have been made. Conley did not know how many people were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
