HOUSTON — Don't write the Utah Grizzlies off just yet.
The Grizzlies jumped out to an early lead and then hung on to beat the Houston Aeros 4-2 Sunday. It capped a triple-header between the two teams, with Houston winning in Utah on Friday and Saturday.
David Gosselin, Justin Cox, Greg Hawgood and Barrett Heisten all scored as the Grizzlies vastly improved their playoff chances.
The win vaulted Utah into a seventh-place tie in the Western Conference with Milwaukee with 79 points. Rochester and Wilkes-Barre are tied for ninth with 77 points, while Philadelphia is on the outside looking in 11th with 76 points.
The Grizzlies have four games remaining — two against Grand Rapids and two against Milwaukee.
