Obituary: Gene Arthur Chynoweth


TROPIC, UT<! > .- Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away suddenly of a heart attack at home in Tropic on March 3, 2003.

He was born December 9, 1926, in Henrieville, Utah to Harvey and Roxie Campbell Chynoweth. He served his country honorably in World War II and returned home to marry his sweetheart MaryEtta Pollock Nov. 20, 1946, in the St. George LDS Temple.

They were blessed with six children, Kathern, Renon, VerJean, Kirk, Danny and Debra

He is survived by his wife, MaryEtta, Tropic; daughters, Kathern (Rod) Syrett, Bryce; Renon (Robert) Gibson, Henderson, Nev.; VerJean (Steve) Clark, Cannonville; sons Kirk (Annette) Chynoweth and Danny (Robin) Chynoweth, Tropic; 25 grandchildren, and

47 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Debra (stillborn), his parents, brothers Leland "Bud" Chynoweth and Wade Chynoweth, sisters, Nelda Jolley and Lois Blackwell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, 2003, at the Tropic LDS Ward chapel at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the chapel Friday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial, with military rites, will be at the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral drectors: Neal S. Magleby & Sons, Richfield.
