Millionaire gets term for plot against wife

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A millionaire securities broker was sentenced to 8 1/2 to 25 years in prison for trying to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife.

Joel Sandler, 52, of Bryn Mawr was motivated by greed and didn't want to split his fortune with his wife, who was seeking a divorce, Judge William T. Nicholas said in sentencing him Tuesday.

"This was a highly calculated, studied plan to have Linda (Sandler) killed," the judge said. He said Sandler showed no remorse.
