Custody measure needed

It was very refreshing for me to see the Feb. 23 article "Jail part of bills on child custody." The fact that noncustodial parents can be alienated from a child's life with no serious consequences is unbelievable in today's society. Many studies have shown that it is much more beneficial to children to have both parents in their lives.

It would be a wonderful thing to have an agency that would track denial of parent-time. Right now it costs thousands to go through the legal system to get rights enforced.

Putting mom in jail isn't excessive. The fact that she is keeping a child away from a father for no good reason is actually mentally abusive to the child.
