This session, the Utah House refused to vote on a resolution calling for the United States to get out of the United Nations, angering some lawmakers and anti-U.N. advocates.
And with just hours left in the session, lawmakers passed a resolution supporting President Bush in whatever he does against Iraq.
But they did so after refusing to vote on a replacement resolution — a "peace" resolution offered by Rep. Scott Daniels, D-Salt Lake. Daniels tried to substitute his peace resolution for HCR15 by Rep. Chad Bennion, R-Murray.
But Bennion placed a substitute motion, Daniels' peace resolution failed, and the original resolution passed.
