JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — A suspended high school teacher accused of taking a 15-year-old female student to Canada fell to his death early Thursday as police arrived, authorities said.
It was unclear whether Thomas Lemmon, 38, was attempting to flee or committed suicide when he jumped from the fourth-floor balcony of his family's home in Welland, Ontario, authorities said.
School officials wouldn't say why Lemmon, a religion and computer teacher, was suspended Wednesday from Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown. Lemmon was married, had two children and was an ordained minister.
The girl, a student at Bishop McCort, was not injured.
