Obituary: Bill Farrell

- William Holmes Farrell, age 71, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2003 in Payson, Utah from complications of surgery.

Born Jan 22, 1932 in Heber City, UT the son of William and Annie Holmes Farrell. Following high school he attended Utah State University where he played football. Married Marva Bethers, later divorced.

Bill is a retired Major in the U.S. Army. He served during the Vietnam Era receiving a Bronze Star. Following his service time he joined the VFW. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles where he served as a past president. Bill played many roles in the community. He was Santa Claus for many years, and also coached in little league.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Hales Retirement Home in Spanish Fork for the love and care given to William over the past few years.

Survivors include five children, William Dean (Diane), WA, Susan (Dennis) Casper, Spanish Fork, Bruce Albert (Cindy), Spanish Fork, Burton B. Farrell, Payson, Barton B. (John), Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, Ray (Ruth), Heber City, Steven (Susan), Midway, LeRoy (Sherilyn), Midway; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Lynette; one son, Paul G., and one brother, Wayne Farrell.

Services will be Tues. March 11, 2003, 1 p.m. Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main St, Heber City. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inter-ment, Midway Cemetery.
