Neils Woodrow Hermansen, 84, passed away May 20th in Southaven, MS.

Born May 3, 1919, to James and Minnie Hermansen in Widtsoe, UT. He had the distinction of having served in three services during World War II. First, with the infantry in Washington State, then as a Naval Cadet at Del Monte, CA, and finally as a Merchant Seaman, which gave him many stories to tell. In 1946, he married his sweetheart from Salt Lake City, Margaret Cutshall, in San Francisco, CA. Neils enjoyed working for Horne-Zwick Construction for many years, and was highly regarded for his meticulous carpentry. After his retirement, he was honored with the first Governor's Award for Best Craftsman.

He is survived by his brother, Grant Hermansen, Bountiful. He has two sons, James and Gary; and four grandchildren, Brian, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jasmin.

Services will be Thurs. May 29, 10 a.m. Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. where friends and family may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Thurs. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
