- Annie Iona Carlen Huffaker, age 94, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away May 23, 2003.

She was born Feb 11, 1909 in Daniel, UT to John H. and Sarah Lenora Bell Carlen. Attended and graduated from Wasatch High School, Heber City, UT. On Sept 12, 1930 she married Glenn LeRoy Huffaker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Five children were born to this couple. Roy preceded her in death March 10, 1976.

Iona was an active member of the LDS Church and served diligently and faithfully in various positions. Through-out her life she has given her time sharing her singing and acting talents in many programs. She will always be remembered for her service in the church and community.

She loved to cook for her family, neighbors, friends, and was given the nickname "Cookie" by her husband. Another talent of hers, on special occasions, was writing poems and short stories. She also enjoyed sewing for her family. Countless hours were spent sewing quilts and crocheting beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren.

Iona's family was very proud of her when she was honored in 1990 as the Midway Honored Citizen.

She is survived by children, Ray (Lo-rene) Huffaker, Layton, Neva (Keith) Montgomery, Midvale, Carma (Farrell) Curtis, West Valley City, Karen (Morris) Thacker, Murray, Leon (Jayne) Huffaker, Midway; and 64 grandchildren. In addition to her husband, preceded in death by parents, two brothers and three sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff and workers at the Golden Living Center and the Heritage Bennion Care Center, Hospice Health Care for all the care and kindness shown.

Services will be Tues. 1:30 p.m. Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home Chapel, 288 N. Main, Heber City. A visitation will be 12:15-1:15 p.m. prior to services. Burial, Midway Cemetery.
