"Will Be Missed"

Jenny Vestergaard Thomassen, age 86, passed away peacefully May 23, 2003 at the home of her daughter, Lene Thomassen Beckstead.

She was born June 25, 1916 in Tjareborg, Denmark. Jenny joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark. Along with her husband, Henry, and their four children, they came to America to live and be sealed as a family in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Later in their life they served a genealogy mission together and worked as temple sealers. A great legacy of faith and service was left for their family as they remained active all their life with strong testimonies.

Jenny had many talents and willingly shared them with everyone. Her home was always filled with warm hospitality and fine Danish cooking to enjoy. Her knowledge of knitting and crocheting was well known by hundreds of people. She was the knitting instructor at Auerbachs Department Store for many years. During the past few years as her health declined, her talent of knitting was a great source of comfort and pleasure as she knit projects for her grandchildren and for the church SORT center.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Lene Beckstead (Robert); son, Poul Thomassen; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. She was preced-ed in death by her husband, Henry, whom she was married 60 years before his sudden passing almost six years ago; son, Heini Thomassen; and daughters, Allis Jackson (Roy), Hanne Brown (Douglas). Jenny will be dearly missed by all her loving family and friends.
