1/13/09 ~ 5/21/03
Arthur Hansen, 94, finished his work here on earth Wed., May 21, 2003.
He was born January 13, 1909 and raised in Palmyra, Utah. He was the second of 11 children born to Peter Oliver Hansen and Emily Leyshon.
He married Madge Wyler October 12, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away October 29, 1970. Children born of this marriage are Sheldon Arthur (Carol) Hansen, Benjamin, Utah; Roselyn (Jim) Daley, Provo, Utah; and Theron Wyler (Darla) Hansen of Safford, Arizona.
He is survived by his children; a sister and two brothers: Dorethy Lyke, Spanish Fork, Utah; William (Bill) Hansen, and Everett Hansen, Palmyra, Utah. He is also the grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grand-children, and one great-great-grandchild of the Hansen family.
He married Lizzie Mills Utley on December 26, 1974, who passed away March 18, 1996. He was a loving, caring mate to "Liz" and fun loving, caring grandfather to the children of the Utley family.
He was a dairy farmer all of his life, and many have sought advice from him on how to manage their farms. He served on the Benjamin Drainage District and the Strawberry Water Users Boards for a number of years. He also served on the Farm Home Administration Committee for many years.
Outstanding are the size and strength of his hands that were always willing to help someone in need. He is a giant of a man, with a giant heart to match.
The Hansen family would like to extend a special thanks to all the medical staff at Mountain View Hospital, the Mountain Air Assisted Living Center, and Dr. Kevin Colver for the care they rendered.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Benjamin Ward LDS Chapel, 3238 West 7300 South. A viewing will be held Monday evening at the Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
