The Davis, Morgan and Summit county Head Start program, headquartered in Kaysville, has been named as a "Program of Excellence" by the National Head Start Association.

Only 17 such Head Start programs were given this recognition. The group can retain this title for three years and then reapply.

This is the third time the Davis, Morgan and Summit Head Start program, a non-profit group, has been named to this honor. Its work in preventing child, family and community violence is one of its hallmarks. It also participated in establishing the Davis County Safe Kids Coalition to provide on-going support in this area.
