So Chuck Turner thinks that Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and Walter Cronkite are Americans we can all endorse. I'm afraid you will have to count me, and quite a number of other people, out of that endorsement. Here is a quote from each of these three men.

Peter Jennings: "[Former President Jimmy] Carter is the first president to go to the island since the Cuban Revolution led by Fidel Castro more than 40 years ago now. And after all these years, Cuba is still a sensitive subject for some Americans." The implication being that after 40 years the brutal and repressive dictatorship of Castro shouldn't concern us anymore.

Tom Brokaw: "The fear now: that the cycle of revenge will only escalate in that part of the world." This quote concerns violence in Israel and equates Israel's attempts to defend itself with the motives of the terrorists.

Walter Cronkite: "Everybody knows that there's a liberal, that there's heavy liberal persuasion among correspondents." Mr. Cronkite is finally telling the truth.

These three men make obscene amounts of money erecting a facade of neutrality behind which they hope their liberal bias takes on an undeserved aura of legitimacy.
