1932 ~ 2003
Patricia Joan Spencer died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Jordan Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
Joan was born in Logan, Utah, on Jan. 5, 1932, to Edwin H. and Eva Shepherd Spencer. She grew up in Magna, graduated from Cyprus High School, and attended LDS Business College.
She was a tender-hearted, happy child who brought much joy to her family, was the keeper of the family photo album and genealogy records. She loved music and shared her beautiful singing voice with others, enjoyed performing The Messiah with the Utah Oratorical Society.
Joan's life was plagued with illness, and she received much tender loving care from the hands of others. In 1995, she suffered a severe automobile accident which further incapacitated her. She met this with courage and cheerfulness and developed a hearty sense of humor. We shall miss her greatly.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Eleanor Chabert; a nephew Daniel Edward Spencer; and her brothers, Ralph and David Spencer.
Survived by a sister, Dorothy Andersen, SLC; a sister-in-law, Laverne (Don) Kaufmann, Thousand Oaks, CA; five nephews: Robert (Mary) Spencer, Fairfax, VA; Phillip and Zachary Spencer, Thousand Oaks; David Andersen, SLC; and Jon Andersen, Overland Park, KS; four great-nieces and -nephews: Erin (Sam) Clark, SLC; Michael Rutherford, Chandler, AZ; Daniel Andersen, Overland Park; and Danielle Andersen, SLC, all of whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services on Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 11 a.m. Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 E. 1300 South, SLC, where family and friends may call one hour before services. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
