Brandon Hopkins, a sophomore at Waterford School in Sandy, has won fourth place and a $500 award in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Cleveland.

Hopkins was honored for his research project, "The Mathematical Modeling of Break Dancing." In all, 66 students competed in the category.

Several Utah students, selected from regional science fairs at Southern Utah University, Weber State University, Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, participated in the Intel fair, administered by Science Service, a non-profit, educational organization.
