The public is invited to contribute to the University of Utah long-range planning process through meetings Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the Fort Douglas Post Theater. The U. shuttle bus will provide transportation from campus stops, and parking is available east of the theater.

Workshop topics will include a brief history of land planning on the U. campus, the current planning process, appropriate campus densities, open space and the natural environment, utility infrastructure, transportation and the future of the golf course and the integration of the U. campus and Salt Lake Valley planning.

The U. has retained Hanbury Evans Wright & Vlattas and ajc architects to help update the 1997 five-year plan. The university plan is shared with the State Board of Regents and addresses specifics in three general categories: location and density of proposed buildings and landscaping; size and location of existing and needed utilities infrastructure; and transportation issues, including impact of the TRAX University Line.
