BOUNTIFUL- <! > Marian Whittaker Christensen passed away peacefully Saturday, May 24, 2003 with her family in attendance.

She was born August 23, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Wilford and Sarah Woolley Davis Whittaker. She graduated from LDS Business College. Marian married Evan Vernal Christensen in Olympia Washington on November 3rd, 1942, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children, John Vernal, who passed away on his mission in England, and Cleone Evelyn.

Marian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Nebraska and the Dakotas. She also enjoyed serving as a Sunday School and Primary teacher.

Marian loved to sing, dance, crochet and knit, and to help others. Every face was beautiful and every smile was a "million-dollar smile" to her. She loved people and enriched the lives of many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Evan Vernal Christensen; her son, John Vernal Christensen; and her brother, Wilford Whittaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Cleone Evelyn Christensen Jensen; her brothers and sister, Eldon and Dorothy Whittaker, Joe Whittaker, Julina W. Jacobson; her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the LDS Ward Chapel, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake, where friends may call from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Valley View Cemetery.
