1910 ~ 2003
Milton Jenkins Jones passed away Monday afternoon, Memorial Day, May 26, 2003, at the ripe old age of 93. He lived a good, faithful life, and probably shouted "Hallelujah!" when his time finally came to return home to God. He was anxious to move on, and the family is comforted to know he is now free from pain and suffering, and truly in a place of joy.
Milton was born January 11, 1910 in Salt Lake City to Violet Jenkins and William Henry Jones. Violet Jenkins later remarried to Fred McPhail, and Milton was raised in this home.
Milton married Mary Margaret Knoth in the Salt Lake Temple on July 27, 1943. Mary preceded Milton in passing on June 1, 1979.
They have six children three girls and three boys, Sherron, Susan, Deborah, David H., Isaac H., and Seth M; with one daughter, Susan, deceased. They also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
During Milton's lifetime, he was a Photographer, Writer, Printer, School Teacher, Genealogist, Scoutmaster, and Veteran of the Second World War. But his first and truest love was for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to which he remained steadfast and loyal throughout his life, and served in many callings faithfully.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Northridge Stake Center, 1674 North 200 West, Orem. Friends may call at the church Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
