1956 ~ 2003

Richard Alden Poulsen, age 46, of Centerville, Utah died at home, Sunday, May 25, 2003.

Richard was born September 27, 1956, at Rigby, Idaho, the son of Richard Kay Poulsen and Coleen Poole Poulsen.

He attended elementary schools in Rigby, Idaho, and Providence, Utah. He attended South Cache Junior High in Hyrum, Utah, and Skyview High School in Smithfield, Utah. Richard married Patty Reese September 17, 1976 in Providence, Utah. They were later divorced.

Richard attended vocational training in Salt Lake City and Logan Utah and worked in building construction most of his life, in Mesquite, Nevada, Logan, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Southern California.

He was involved with his sons in Poulsen Racing Inc. as the mechanic for motocross competitions. He also enjoyed outdoor activities. He enjoyed horses and raced Quarter Horses in Idaho and Utah and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Richard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors Include: one daughter, Nichole (J.D.) Marriott of Farr West, Utah; three sons: Tyler (Heather) Poulsen of Benson, Utah; Trent (Amy Miller) Poulsen of North Ogden, Utah; Jason Poulsen of North Ogden, Utah; Parents: R. Kay and Coleen Poulsen of Centerville, Utah; one sister, Jeanette Van Wagoner of Hyrum, Utah; four brothers: David (Joann) Poulsen of Nibley, Utah; Mike (Lauri) Poulsen of Centerville, Utah; Brent Poulsen of Centerville, Utah; John (Debbie) Poulsen of Mendon, Utah; grandmother, Agnes Poulsen of St. George, Utah; four grandchildren: Gavin Poulsen, Cassidey Poulsen, Mylee Marriott, Kennadee Poulsen

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003, at 11:30 a.m. in the Centerville 3rd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Stephen Young officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. in the Church. Burial will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in Ogden Utah under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho. Local arrangements are with Russon Brothers Mortuary.
