"Gone To Tend Her Heavenly Garden"

MIDVALE - TRUCHAS<! > -- Petronila (Petra) Romero, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, passed away May 26, 2003 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mom was born December 8, 1916 in Truchas, New Mexico to Dionicio and Bonifacia Dominguez. She married Willie Romero March 22, 1933 in Truchas. He preceded her in death December 16, 1972.

Mom was a member of St. Therese of The Child Jesus Parish in Midvale. She was also a member of the Midvale Senior Citizens Center. She loved making ceramics to give to friends and family, and was always helping other members with their projects. She was also a volunteer at the soup kitchen. Before moving to Midvale, Mom was a cook and co-coordinator at the Truchas Senior Center in New Mexico.

She is survived by four children: Ida (Nelson), Grace (John), Willie Jr. (Marie), James (Elizabeth) Romero; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly; brothers, Nestor (Cipia), Phil (Lucy) Dominguez; sister, Nellie (Agustin) Valdez, all New Mexico. Preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Bertha Pacheco, Consuelo Vigil; three brothers, Esteven, Pete, Jose Dominguez.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 West Lennox St., Midvale. Holy Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the church where friends may call for a visitation and viewing Wednesday 6-8 p.m. or Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
