"Together Forever"

Sammie Virginia Whitmore Voyce, 89, our beloved mom and grandma, passed away at her home with her family surrounding her.

She was born November 22,1913 in Midvale, Utah to Samuel Moroni and Letitia Elizabeth Grange Whitmore. Sammie married Alfred Kay Voyce in the Manti LDS Temple on May 21, 1940. Kay preceded her in death on March 5, 2002.

Survivors: children, Bruce Kay (Reggie) Voyce, Springfield, Oregon; Terrie Kenner, Sandy; grandchildren, Shelley Kenner, Matthew Kenner, Kelly Voyce, Channon Voyce, Eric Voyce, Erin Voyce; sisters, Leda Young and Esther Jensen; sister-in-law, Vernice Hyke. Preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

She was a graduate of Jordan High School. Sammie served as a church organist for 52 years in two wards. Sammie and Kay served an LDS Mission to the LDS Church Genealogy Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as a Stake Mission in California. She was an avid gardener and genealogist and was active in the Whitmore Family Association.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy-Crescent 10th LDS Ward Chapel, 10945 South 1700 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Thursday 6-8 p.m. or Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Sammie W. Voyce Charitable Trust in care of P.O. Box 415, Walterville, OR 97489.
